Now this might sound stupid but are any of these cars street legal?
BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

I doubt they have signaling apparatuses, so no.

Maybe if you swapped out tires and added turn signals. Could you just use hand signals in lieu of actual blinkers?

The GT cars might look similar to their namesake, but in reality they are purpose-built race cars. It's like stock cars in NASCAR.

They still meet the same crash requirements. I'm guessing you'd need to tone down the noise, and fit real tires instead of slicks. And airbags
That said, they are production frames but none have VIN numbers. The closest is probably the 911 America, which is a fancy Cup car, which is a GT3 RS with expensive gearbox, shocks, and no airbags

Everything is streetlegal in Indonesia, as long as it has lights, numberplates, and weighs less than 40 tonnes.

It's actually nothing like that.

Oh? To which part are you implying I'm wrong? That they're basically purpose-built race cars or that it's like NASCAR?

Yeah I figure it might work then. I just wish it was like the 60s right after the race drive it on the street!

He's saying that the starting point for the GTLM and GTD cars are road cars, while stock cars never have such road-car origins.

That it's like NASCAR. NASCARs are a tube frame with a formulaic engine, all built from the ground up. The GT cars start essentially as their road counterparts in body and in engine block and are modified from there.
No part of a Camry or Fusion exists on the corresponding NASCARs.

Ok you're right. NASCAR is a far cry from their namesakes (hell do they even still look like their namesake like the Monte Carlos did?) while there's quite a bit more in common with GTLM/GTD and their namesakes.

Yeah, that's really all I mean. And even then, GT racers like you say are purpose built. The shape is there, the shell is there, the block is there. Everything else is usually pretty different.
That said, I think you could run a GT racer on the street if you check all the boxes.

It would probably be road legal in the UK. That's for sure.

I've thought about this, because the thought of a road-legal DP Corvette is intriguing to me (Zora, I know...). If you based the chassis on a Factory Five kit or something, perhaps it's possible. Then again, it wouldn't really be a DP Vette then...
